Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to Vellore, the magnificent fort city of Tamil Nadu. This
16 th century fort built by the Vijayanagara kings, subsequently
passed through the hands of the Bijapur sultans, Marathas,
Carnatic Nawabs and the British, till independence. Each brought
with them, a piece of their culture and faith and the city continues
to take pride to be a meeting point for people across the nation
and the globe. The Christian Medical College, Vellore, conceived in
1900 by Dr. Ida Scudder in response to the need for women
medical doctors shares a similar story as the Vellore fort, with
individuals from different culture adding to what the institution
stands for ‘Not to be ministered unto but to minister’. One such
individual was Dr. Jacob Chandy who commenced the
multidisciplinary Neurological Sciences division in 1949, the first in
India and serves as the birthplace for advanced neurological
services provided within the country.
This is an invitation to all interested in the field of Paediatric
Neurology to reconnect with our roots and take this specialty to
every corner of the globe, to benefit society and improve health
care for children with neurological and neurodevelopmental
disorders. In order to achieve this, we need to hold hands with
other medical specialty, allied health professional teams,
educationists, engineers, families and policy makers. So, the
theme for the 14 th annual conference of the Association of Child
Neurology India, Childneurocon 2024 is ‘Collaboration, the Means
to Creativity’.
The conference will be held from 8 th to 10 th of February 2024, in
the lush green valley called the Bagayam campus of the Christian
Medical College, surrounded by the ancient hills of the Eastern
Ghats. The conference highlights include, five pre-conference
workshop and the conference itself will encompass two days of
cutting-edge deliberations by national and international experts. A
warm welcome to all…..
